Shockwave therapy is a safe and innovative treatment option for chronic tendon, ligament and muscle pain. Shockwave therapy sends controlled acoustic and mechanical pressure waves deep into the tissue which helps to promote collagen synthesis and the healing of chronic soft tissue damage by forcing the body to send fresh blood flow to the injury. Tendons and ligaments have a limited blood supply, which is why when they become damaged they typically take significantly longer to heal compared to more vascular tissues. Fresh blood flow and enhanced circulation to chronic damage in a tendon/ligament promotes healing and tissue regeneration.

Conditions that may benefit from shockwave include: plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, achilles tendinitis, patellar tendinitis, shin splints, IT Band Syndrome, hamstring tendinitis, trochanteric bursitis (hip pain), chronic lumbar myofascial pain, rotator cuff problems, tennis elbow, Golfers' Elbow, trigger finger, chronic trigger points. *Available for existing patients only* If you are a new patient please book an initial examination.

Meet Michelle :)

Michelle has been a Registered Massage Therapist for humans since 2005 and has helped them in both clinical and luxury spa settings with their physical, mental, and emotional pain. She has also worked with the Discipline Committee at the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and taught Massage Therapy for 2 years at a private college in Mississauga. She currently offers her expertise to the CMTO as a tutor/mentor for individuals who need help with their education in order to reinstate their license to practice massage therapy in Ontario.

After massaging humans for so many years, Michelle decided to add dogs to her client list! Her journey to massaging dogs began about 2 years ago when her handsome poodle, Henry, broke a nail in his hindfoot. Henry had Addison’s Disease, so it made his healing complicating. He ended up immobile in his hindquarters which led to lameness and atrophy. Michelle wanted to help him, so she bought a canine anatomy book, assessed his movement, and started massaging. His pain decreased to allow more movement for rehabilitation, and he was running and jumping within weeks! She knew then that she wanted to make other people and their dogs as happy as her and Henry, so she got certified with Treetops obtaining an Advanced Diploma, and started her career in Canine Massage Therapy.

On a more personal level, Michelle is extremely family-oriented, an avid IMDB reader, and always looking for a new hobby. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, attending fam-jams, and playing the game “Let’s Not Adopt Another Pet” during adoption days at the pet store.
